Business Spotlight - June 2022

Riverwest Farmers Market Edition

Greeting Friends and Neighbors:

Farmers markets play a pivotal role for small farmers and producers along with residents providing access to fresh produce and other products. The Riverwest Market, held on Sundays from 10 - 3pm, June through October, on the 2700 block of N. Pierce is a great example. Hosting nearly 30 full season vendors, and many various rotating vendors, there is something for everyone. Also, be sure to check out the variety of community resource tables that we will rotate throughout the season!

Check out more information about the Riverwest Market here.

Pao Garden

Pao Garden is a multi-generational family-run farm located in Fredonia. Ka Pao and Kor, along with their daughter Sabrina, farm the land and bring a large variety of seasonal produce and flowers to the market. For over 20 years Kor has been sharing the bounty from her garden. They have recently expanded their 6 acre farm with another 6 acre plot nearby, and are bringing back their onsite mini market stand for folks who drive by their home.

Digital Portrails

Digital Portrails bridges the gap between art and science by creating digital map art of local and regional landmarks. They are celebrating their second year in business, as they started at the market in 2021. Tom, a trained cartographer, turns GIS maps into works of art while Elizabeth, a professional graphic designer, oversees the final designs as well as produces all of the marketing materials and manages the business.

Tres Ojos

Tres Ojos is made up of Brenda and Desiree: a married couple, eclectic artists, and brujas. Their style captures their love of nature and magick. As environmental enthusiasts, they use mostly materials from nature and from second hand / antique shops when creating their one-of-a-kind jewelry and art. They also sell a wide variety of crystals, herbal blends, oils, sprays, and many other products and oddities.

Flush with Mush LLC

Flush with Mush is in its second year at the Riverwest Farmers Market. Each week they showcase their naturally grown and foraged heirloom mushrooms including Oyster, Lion's Mane, Chestnut, Shiitake, and other varieties. Charles and Noelle take pride in bringing healthy, chemical and pesticide-free products to the community, as well as homemade mushroom-themed goods such as facemasks, aprons, and more!
