Partnered with the Milwaukee Office of Early Childhood Initiatives, Riverworks opened the first laundromat mini-library in the city in October 2019. The goal of the mini-library is to promote childhood development through reading and learning during day-to-day activities. At the mini-library, children are not only encouraged to read while their parents are doing laundry, but are also welcome to bring books home to stock their own personal libraries. MOECI is working to put 'Read, Play & Learn' opportunities like this in convenient, high traffic areas throughout the city of Milwaukee.
