The 53212Marketplace: Mother's Day Edition is happening this Sunday, May 1st from 11:00 - 3:00pm at 3700 N Fratney Street. The event is free and open to the public. Come out and support local businesses as you sip, stroll and shop for the perfect Mother's Day gift!

Quench your thirst with libations from Amorphic Beer or coffee and other beverages from Kuumba Juice & Coffee and Style Pop Café. Satisfy your hunger with grub from Don Pastor Food Truck, Clarke Street Sausage Co., and the Riverwest Co-Op. In business since 2004, Edgar and the crew have been providing the community with premium body oils, handmade incense, lotions, body butters, massage oil, scrubs, soaps and much more. They have been helping people fell and smell good for years.

Sue Blaustein is a Riverwest poet who has written a poetry chapbook entitled "The Beer Line" as well as a full-length poetry book entitled "In the Field - Autobiography of an Inspector". She also works collaboratively with other local artists and poets, and completed a Big Read Zine Project in the Summer of 2020.

Jamaican Fair Trade was established in 2018. The purpose of Jamaican Fair Trade is to work with small Jamaican farmers to get 100% Blue Mountain Coffee to the Midwest. Blue mountain coffee is one of the world's most sought after coffees because of the mild flavor and lack of bitterness. You can buy it in whole-bean form, ground, or even in K-cups. You can also get flavored roasts like French Vanilla or Hazelnut.

Their small corner grocery store uses its warm and inviting atmosphere to bring neighbors together, while supporting local farmers and makers, offering many organic, vegetarian, and vegan products, and promoting an alternative to corporate and capitalistic business structures. The café is a local favorite, with vegan and vegetarian dishes that will surely satisfy your taste buds!

Rooted MKE is a BIPOC-centered children's collective hub. They recently opened up their first brick and mortar location on West Vliet Street, which features a BIPOC and LGBTQ+ children's bookstore, maker space, and tutoring center. Ashley has a dream of Rooted being a child-centered business that connects families through shared experiences. Check out the books she has for the little ones in your life.



rubbishREMADE is a collective of makers with an environmental approach of reusing and upcycling "rubbish" that would otherwise be discarded. Since 2021, they have crafted a wide variety of bags, jewelry, accessories, household items and décor. They hold workshops like how to make "plarn" (yarn made from old plastic shopping bags and other materials), and are always welcoming to adding craftspeople to the group!


SB Resurrected Gifts

SB Resurrected Gifts (formerly Sarah's Shelves, Smells & Pastels) offers young living oils, shelves and tiered decorative storage, and artwork. Sarah helps other improve their overall health with oils and household products, and creates unique paintings and function art pieces.

For over 10 years Seven Sisters Trading Co. has formed partnerships with Tribal artists around the world. From Afghan refugees living in Pakistan, Tibetan refugees living in Nepal, Tuareg artists from Nigeria, Massai women beaders from Kenya, woven textile artists from the Andes Mountains in Ecuador, and much more. Seven Sisters offer fair trade, handmade jewelry, clothing and home decor, at below-retail prices.

The founders of Style Pop Café were compelled to create a brand of coffee that would summon people's courage to be true to themselves. Their brand brings the innovative, productive, and resourceful energy of a coffee shop into people's own private spaces. They offer coffee and specialty coffee drinks as well as craft creamers and coffee-themed gift sets.
