Riverworks’ Social Enterprises are meant to be profitable using commerce as tool to maximize sustainability and impact. Revenue earned will be reinvested back into the organization to assist in carrying-out its social mission. A successful social enterprise is one that balances the tension between upholding the social mission of organization and maximizing the productivity of the business venture to ensure sustainability. Three key components of our social enterprises are:
Innovation—We provide innovative products and/or services to the community that helps to resolve social issues.
Employment—We provide employment opportunities to people facing barriers to the workforce in an effort to break the cycle of poverty.
Give Back—We take revenue earned and reinvest it back into the workers, the business and the community we serve.
