OVERVIEW OF PROGRAM & GOALS
Riverworks’ Financial Opportunity Center provides personal and career coaching for individuals and families interested in improving their financial situation. By bundling three core coaching services, our Financial Opportunity Center offers a comprehensive experience which supports individuals and families through the transition from unemployment and under-employment into gainful employment and financial freedom. All coaching services are free of charge for individuals and families. Individuals or families can contact our FOC Program Assistant, Jamila Wright, for more information or to set up an appointment at (414) 906-9650.
WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT COACHING
The workforce development coach prepares individuals for employment and career advancement through group workshops and one-on-one individual appointments. The workshops and coaching appointments focus on resume and interview preparation, job searching and placement, basic job skills, and setting professional/career goals. Raquel Smith is the Workforce Coach.
The financial coach supports participants by providing a Combined Financial Assessment (CFA), which includes: a monthly budget, balance sheet, credit report, financial vision, and challenges questionnaire. The CFA is the starting point for financial freedom, taking a ‘snap shot’ of an individual’s current situation and working to develop a plan to move into financial stability. Dominique Mason is the F.O.C. Financial Coach.
The benefits coach provides assistance with BadgerCare+, Family Planning Only Services, FoodShare, and Wisconsin Shares applications. Additionally, the benefits coach connects individuals and families to other resources in the community. As individuals move into gainful employment, our benefits coach aides in the transition from receiving public benefits into stabilizing life without the assistance of public benefits. Jamila Wright is the Benefits Coach.
