Programs

RDC, a leader in the economic revitalization of the Riverworks Center area, serves as a catalyst for redevelopment, striving to positively impact area businesses and neighborhood residents. The diverse range of programs we manage together with key partnerships we have established allow us to take a comprehensive approach in our efforts to increase community prosperity.

Through our focus on real estate and expertise providing technical assistance to small businesses, RDC strives to revitalize the area by attracting new businesses and retaining those already here. RDC also develops and coordinates projects with the City of Milwaukee to redevelop and maintain public space, adding to the vitality of the Riverworks Center area and adjacent neighborhoods.

RDC's focus on workforce development through job training and placement helps residents move into career-oriented jobs and benefits Riverworks and Milwaukee businesses with a trained and skilled workforce. The new Center for Family Prosperity takes our job service offerings to a new level, offering the Riverworks area and Milwaukee residents financial coaching and asset-building training so that the wages they earn will go further for their families.

Highlighting the organization's comprehensive approach to development, RDC is in the process of developing a focused approach to help stabilize and improve the residential neighborhoods that adjoin our business districts. By committing more resources and forging stronger networks, we hope to revitalize the surrounding neighborhoods and provide a ready supply of employees for our area's growing base of employers.

Riverworks Partnerships

RDC pursues economic development though partnerships with other community and regional development initiatives. We administer Riverworks Business Improvement Districts #25 and #36 which exist to serve the interests of local businesses, and we also collaborate with many public and private groups to achieve our strategic goals for this area.
