About Us

Formed in 1992 as the Northeast Milwaukee Industrial Development Corporation (NMIDC), the organization was created through the efforts of area businesses and community groups to reverse the trend of companies moving out of the Northeast Milwaukee industrial corridor. In 2004 the organization changed its name to the Riverworks Development Corporation (RDC) to reflect the changing dynamics of the area.

In the past this area was predominately industrial but today the area is home to several major retailers, new entrepreneurial ventures and a workforce that is as diverse as the kinds of companies that call Riverworks home.
