Please join Riverworks Development Corporation for our Annual Golf Outing to be held at the Mequon Country Club on Friday, August 20, 2010. This important event helps raise funds that are necessary to succesfully implement RDC programming. It gives stakeholders an opportunity to learn more about what we're doing as an organization, the successes we're having and the challenges we face, and connect with RDC staff and Board members. We are excited to parnter with the staff at Mequon Country Club to plan and host a very successful event and invite you to join us. 2010 Riverworks Brokers Open

The two Riverworks Business Improvement Districts are ramping up their marketing efforts and will be hosting the first  Riverworks Center Brokers Open this year to promote the area for business.  The theme of the event is “The BID Advantage,” and it will feature Department of City Development Commissioner Rocky Marcoux as the keynote speaker. In addition to a focus on real estate development and business opportunities in the Riverworks Center area and Milwaukee as a whole, the event will also center on the benefits that result from brokers and BIDs working together. The event will be geared towards real estate and financial professionals, government, and those that make deals happen in the City of Milwaukee.

The Riverworks Center Brokers Open will be held on the morning of Thursday, September 30 at the Richards Street Armory at 4108 North Richards Street, a historical building that has served as the headquarters for the Milwaukee National Guard since 1930.  We’re confident this will be a great event for networking and information, and our sponsorship packages give brokers, financial institutions, and businesses an opportunity to market and promote their products, properties, and services as well.  If there is any interest in supporting the event through sponsorship, please contact Chris Grandt at (414) 906-9650 or by email at chrisg@riverworksmke.org.

2009 Riverworks Biennial Meeting

On April 16, 2009 the Riverworks Center hosted the 2009 Riverworks Biennial Breakfast Meeting at Lad Lake Education & Life Skills Development Center located at 225 West Capitol Drive. This year's theme, "I Am Riverworks," focused on the people and businesses that have made the Riverworks Center the success that it is today. Program reviews and updates were provided by Riverworks staff. John Kersey of Towne Realty was the featured speaker, and business owners and Riverworks stakeholders spoke of their connection to the Riverworks Center as well.

Special thanks go out to LAD Lake staff and especially Thomas Casper (also a BID #25 Board Member) and LAD Lake Executive Director Gary Erdmann. The venue they set up for this event was top notch, and most agree this Biennial Meeting was our best yet. We also want to thank the diverse range of Riverworks businesses that donated products for the event: Burke Candy & Ingredients, Wisconsin Wilderness Food Products, Bradley Industries, Inc., Office Depot, The Candle Maker, and Outpost Natural Foods.

Finally, we thank the table sponsors who generously supported the event: Unique Car Care, Shiloh Tabernacle, Milwaukee Area Investment Board, Inc., Goodwill Industries of Southeastern WI, Inc., CTC Supplies, Community Development Management Partnerships, RET Lounge, 531 E. Keefe, LLC, Center Point Properties Trust, WHEDA, UW-Milwaukee Center for Urban Initiatives & Research, US Bank, Wal-Mart, and Wenniger Compressor Company.
